Copy/Move task list and task

Copy task list:

  1. Select any task list out of all task-lists from left corner of your screen.
  2. Click on the menu icon from right and choose Create a copy option.

  3. A window will pop up from where you can select the project where you want to copy the task list.

  4. Click on Copy and your task list will be copied.

Note:

  • You can copy the task list in the same project and in any other project added in your account.
  • When you copy the task list in same project, all the assigned users will be copied but their comments and state of task (whether it is complete or incomplete) will not be copied, which means even if you copy the completed tasks they will be copied as incomplete.
  • When you copy the task list in different project, all the assigned people, associated milestones and timesheets, dates, comments and state of task will not be copied.

Move task lists

  1. Select any task list that you want to move.
  2. Click on the menu icon from right and choose Move option.move task list
  3. A window will pop up from where you can select the project where you want to move the task list.

  4. If you want to move the assigned users along with the task-list, then select the checkbox besides Move people not present in destination project.
  5. Click Move and your task list will be moved.

Note:

  • When you move task list from one project to another project, you will have to select the checkbox Move people not present in destination project only then assigned users and their comments will be moved.

Copy tasks/subtasks

  1. Select any task or subtask that you want to copy.
  2. Click on the menu icon from right and choose Create a copy option.

  3. A window will pop up from where you can select the project and task list where you want to copy the selected task/subtask.

  4. Click Ok and your task/subtask will be copied.

Note:

  • You can copy the task to any task list in the same project as well as in any other project added in your account.
  • When you copy the task in the same or different task list of same project, all the assigned users, private check will be copied but the comments added on it and state of task will not be copied. By state of task will not be copied means that when a task at any stage is copied to same list or different list of same project then it always goes to the first stage of list.
  • When you copy the task in the task list of any other project, all the assigned users, their comments, private check, dates and state of task will not be copied. It always goes to first stage of that list.

Move tasks/subtasks

  1. Select any task or subtask, which you want to move.
  2. Click on the menu icon from right and choose Move option.

  3. A window will pop up from where you can select the project and task list where you want to move the task.

  4. Select the checkbox Move people not present in the destination project if you want to move assigned people of that task with the task.
  5. Click Ok and your task will be moved.

Note:

  • You can move the task to any other task list of same project as well as in the task list of another project.
  • When you move the task to the task list of same project, all the assigned users, their comments and public/private checks will be moved. You can also drag and drop the task to move it to the desired task list.
  • When you move the task to the task list of any other project, all the comments will be moved, but assigned users will only be moved if you select the checkbox Move people not present in the destination project.
  • When a task at any stage other than the last stage is moved to another list of same or different project then it always goes to the first stage of that list.
  • And in case the task is in last stage, then it will go to the last stage of the workflow associated with the list in which it is moved.
