Copy/move task list and task
Copy task list:
Following are the steps to create a copy of a task list:
- Select a project
- Go to Tasks section
- Select a task list whose copy is to be created and right click on the task list or click on its context menu icon.
- Select Create a copy option from the context menu.
- Copy tasklist window will appear on the right side.
- You can mention the name of the list, that you want the copied list to have, and choose the project in which you wish to create the copy of the list.
- Click on Ok to copy the list.
Note:
- One can create a copy of the task list in the same project as well as in a different project.
- When a task list is copied in the same project then comments, dates, stages of tasks and subscribers/assignees will get copied if you select the respective option while copying a tasklist.
- When a task list is copied in a different project, then the milestones and timesheets associated with the tasklists will not get copied. However, those assigned, dates set on the tasks, stages of tasks and comments will be copied if you select the options.
Move task list:
Following are the steps to move a task list
- Select a project.
- Go to Tasks section.
- Select a task list which is to be moved.
- Either right click on the task list or click on its context menu icon.
- Select Move option from the context menu.
- Move tasklist window will appear on the right side.
- You’ll get an option to change the list’s title, select the project in which you wish to move the list, move assignees not present in destination project, stages of tasks, task dates and comments made on files attached to the tasks present in the list.
- Click on Ok to move the list.
Note:
- A task list can be moved to another project.
- The associate milestones and timesheets will not move on moving the task list to another project.
Bookmark Tasklist
Following are the steps to move a task list
- Select a task list that is to be bookmarked.
- Either right-click on the task list or click on its context menu icon.
- Select Bookmark option from the context menu.
Copy task/subtask
Following are the steps to copy a task/subtask:
- Select a project.
- Go to Tasks section.
- Select the task list from which the task is to be copied
- Select the task to be copied
- Either right click on the task or click on its context menu.
- Select Create a copy option from the context menu.
- Copy task window will appear and in it you get options to set the name of the copy that’ll be generated, choose project and choose task list.
- Click on Ok to create a copy of the task.
Note:
- You can create a copy of task in same project as well as same task list.
Move task/subtask
Following are the steps to move a task/subtask:
- Select a project
- Go to task section
- Select the task list from which the task is to be moved.
- Select the task to be moved.
- Either right click on the task or click on its context menu.
- Select Move option from the context menu.
- Move task window will appear on the right side.
- In it you get options to set the name of the task, choose project, choose task list and select stage for the task.
- Click on Ok to move the task.
Note:
- You can move the task list in other list of same project or in a task list of another project.
- In case you choose to move the task in other list of same project or move a task in a task list of another project then you’ll get an option to select stage which you wish to assign the task and you can also get options to move assignees, task dates, comments and custom fields.
- By default on moving a task to another project the people not present in the destination project will not get moved.
