Template functionality in project management systems eliminates the need to create projects from scratch repeatedly. Instead, for projects sharing similar structures, templates offer a pre-defined framework. You can select a template during project creation to streamline the process and save time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/span>Add a template<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Access the “Quick add<\/span>” menu:<\/strong> Click on the “+”<\/strong> icon located in the top left side to open the quick add menu and select “Template”<\/strong>.

  2. Enter the template details<\/span>:<\/strong>

    \n
      \n
    • Color: <\/strong>By setting a color for your template, you can utilize the color filter to conveniently sort and organize your templates based on color categories.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Add the title <\/strong>and the description.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Assignees: <\/strong>People who should be part of the project.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Project manager: <\/strong>Select the project manager from the list of assignees assigned to the project. The project Manager is responsible for coordinating all aspects of a project, including planning, execution, and team collaboration, to ensure successful completion within defined timelines and objectives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Select the start date<\/strong> and end date<\/strong> of the template.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Click Next.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Select the project tabs<\/span><\/strong>:

      • Enable\/disable the tabs:<\/strong> Project tabs refer to the various sections or areas within a project.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Set a tab as default:<\/strong> This means that when you open a project, it will automatically take you to the tab you’ve selected as the default.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Save the template<\/span>: <\/strong>After entering all the details and selecting the tabs required for the template, click the “Add”<\/strong> button to save your template.

        <\/span>How to use a template<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        While creating the project check the “Use template”<\/strong> option. From the drop-down list select the template you would like to use.

        Note:<\/span><\/strong> While creating a project from the template, dates can be adjusted as per the following parameters:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        • Earliest date in the project\/template<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Keep the date as it is<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          For example:<\/strong> Select the “Earliest date in the project\/template<\/strong>” from the drop-down list and set the due date as per your need. Now, if the current earliest due date is December 1 and you move it to a new date, let\u2019s say, December 3, 2 days will be added to all the dates.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          <\/span>Convert existing project to template<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          1. Hover over the project name:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0The gear icon will be visible, click on it and select\u00a0\u201cEdit\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0from the context menu.

          2. Check the “Is template”<\/strong> and click on “Update”<\/strong> to convert the existing project to a template.
